The Performance Guard™ Citrix Module monitors each end-user ICA session from the Citrix server for availability and performance of applications, as well as for application usage statistics. Using baselines and alarms, it sends alerts on application issues and performance bottlenecks and enables IT managers to quickly identify and proactively resolve issues with their systems. By providing an accurate picture of service quality, Performance Guard™ also enables IT to guarantee compliance with Service Level Agreements and ensure the customer is only paying for the service they receive.
Performance Guard™ is the only solution that is able to audit all the essential aspects of a Citrix-based IT system and produce status reports in real time - without influencing the results in any way. We're not talking about rapidly outdated test transactions, but rather reliable monitoring of any new or existing Citrix system's capability to deliver business-critical services. Using one centralized server with Performance Guard™, companies are able to improve system performance, increase user productivity, reduce expenses on infrastructure and help-desk resources, and ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs). In addition, software updates and new applications are instantly audited and reported on in conjunction with all the other elements in the Citrix system.

Benefit |
| Monitor key connection data points between the Citrix server and the user: Client latency, Client Traffic amount, Citrix log-in time, Citrix sessions and involuntary session disconnects and logged-in users. |
When monitoring user latency, log-in and utilization across Citrix servers, IT is able to document actual service delivered as well as instantly identify the exact cause for any service degradation caused by the connection between the user and the Citrix server – based on the end-users performance experience. |
| Monitor Citrix Server performance: CPU, Memory, Disk and Users. |
Enable IT to look at individual Citrix servers or groups of servers and monitor over time. This enables users to document utilization over time, set thresholds and alarms that alert IT prior to issues occurring or to pinpoint specific server resources that stain the system. |
| Monitor Connection between Citrix server and back-end systems: Response time of services, network errors/re-transmits, data volume. |
Enable true visibility into the performance rendered to and from the Citrix environment and back-end systems enable IT to quickly identify the resources causing an issue or if thresholds are set,. The resources that are most likely to cause issues soon and thus needs to be addressed for tuning or capacity improvements. |
| Fast and easy install on Citrix servers. |
The installation is done on the Citrix server only, or both on the Citrix server and each end-user PC in a matter of minutes, enabling IT to get valuable insights within hours without any configuration required. |
| Out-of-the-box Citrix Health Check reports. |
Once the system has been installed and has been running for a few hours or days, Performance Guard™ offers a one-click health check report that will deliver all the base performance metrics of the individual installation, enabling IT to get return on investment often in less than one week. |
| Monitor performance without burdening the system. |
Unique to Performance Guard™ is the architectural deployment that gives no extra load on the Citrix servers. This enable IT to install on even strained, performance challenged systems without making the problem worse, and quickly gather all the detailed performance data needed to pinpoint where to improve first on the strained servers. |
